How to deal with someone with an anger management issue?

Someone close has an anger management issue. They blame everything and do not admit it. When they talk about it, they give enough leeway to gain ground in the argument and then shift the conversation to what others are doing while their behavior remains the same. What to do to relate that they need to change?

Talk to them like they’re getting their way. They should think you’re taking their side and become more rational. Like saying “Ok I understand, your way seems nice, but here’s a better way.” It’s all about tricking their mind into thinking that they’re getting what they want, but you’re slowly persuading them to your side.

tell them that they seem to be struggling with something, but you can’t tell what, tell them that if they need to vent something that you are always available to listen, and make sure to tell them that if they want to vent, they also need to problem solve and you are more than willing to help them with that. wait until you are together in private and don’t be too pushy or you will push them away (even if you don’t mean to)

record them and play it back. they will probably act mad at first, but maybe then, hopefully, they will realize that you’re right and they need to change.

You cann’t help unless they see the problem themselves and want to help themselves. Nothing you say or do will make a differences. But, if you must speak you might try pointing out someone else that is just like this person you know. Telling them how you and others feel about the one your pointing out and ask how they feel about that person. Or you could tell them in a calm, sociable manner what they are like. Using terms such as “I feel” or “If this type of behavior continues” Trying not to point the finger if you know what I mean. Also, you might want to let them know that people who act in this manner will soon lose alot of friends.
